Central Interstate 215 Project

Scott Road (north of Murrieta) to Nuevo Road (Perris)

RCTC began the preliminary engineering and environmental document to widen Interstate 215 between the Scott Road Interchange north of Murrieta and the Nuevo Road Interchange in Perris in fall 2007. This is the central section of RCTC’s 29.25-mile freeway widening project between Murrieta Hot Springs Road in Murrieta and State Route 60.

Priority has been given to the central and southern projects along the I‑215 corridor, since I‑215 narrows to only two lanes in each direction in these areas. These projects will add one general purpose lane to both northbound and southbound I‑215. The result will be a six lane freeway with three general purpose lanes in each direction.
