RCTC has begun the preliminary engineering and environmental document to widen Interstate 215 between the Scott Road Interchange north of Murrieta and the Nuevo Road Interchange in Perris. This is the central section of RCTC’s 29.25-mile freeway widening project between I-15 and State Route 60.

Priority has been given to the central and southern sections of this overall project, since I-215 narrows to only two lanes in each direction in these areas. This project will add one lane to both northbound and southbound I-215.
