RCTC has begun the preliminary engineering and environmental document to widen Interstate 215 between the junction of Interstate 15 north of Temecula and Scott Road north of Murrieta. This is the southernmost section of RCTC’s 29.25-mile freeway widening project between I-15 and State Route 60.

Priority has been given to the southern and central sections of this overall project, since I-215 narrows to only two lanes in each direction in these areas. This project will add one lane to both northbound and southbound I-215.
